Worldwide 130 Million women and girls do not receive adequate education. This is the reason for illnesses to spread quickly in developing countries and for many families to not be able to escape poverty. Furthermore, women do not have control over family planning since they never get educated about birth control. Although it has been proven that a country’s economic growth is boosted by women being educated, some countries are still not funding enough girls. Every year a girl attends school, adds 12 % to her income. The consequences of not being educated are devastating for women leading not only to a life in poverty, but also poor health and little security. Politicians from all over the world will emphasize the importance of education for all women on International Women’s day on the 8th of March.
