The new system of evaluating GCSE results has shed light on the achievements of schools in Hackney. The new way of monitoring progress makes the development of students from starting secondary school to the point where they pass their GCSE easier to see. Overall, students in Hackney have improved by 0.35 which means that on average their grades have increased by about 1 third. The new model is supposed to make the comparison between results at different points of time of one student and results between schools more easily accessible.
