Newham most affected by education cuts

Schools in the borough of Newham face the worst cuts out of all London boroughs. By 2020, the borough has to deal with a shortfall of 611 Pounds per pupil. This will result in a decline in the numbers of teachers employees, as Newham will not be able to afford them anymore. Up to 845 teachers will need to go additionally to those who have already left. This will leave the schools in this area with a tremendous lack of teachers and consequently the level of education will go down or only be available to the wealthiest. Overall the government’s cut, worth 3 billion pounds, affects all schools in London, but most urgently Newham as well as neighboring boroughs like Tower Hamlets.
